# Fret & Fuzz

> Guitar pedals and amps, compared on published specifications rather than adjectives. Every figure is sourced to a manufacturer document, and we state plainly that we have not played the gear.

## What this site is

Fret & Fuzz is an independent publication about guitar effects pedals and amplifiers, written for a player who already owns a rig and is choosing what to buy next. Rather than describing how gear sounds, it compares products on what manufacturers publish: clipping topology, current draw, input and output impedance, wattage, speaker size, tube complement and power-reduction options. Where a maker publishes no figure, the page says so instead of substituting one.

The site's distinguishing position is a negative claim: we have NOT tested this equipment. There is no lab, no listening room and no owned units. What replaces testing is compiled manufacturer documentation, reproducible arithmetic (power budgets, decibel calculations, attenuation), and a cited source for every number.

Scooter M. — an enthusiast, framed by interest rather than by credential or tenure. No professional certification is claimed, no test bench exists, and no hands-on testing is asserted anywhere on the site.
